ABSOLUTELY - No matter your skill level you can come out and enjoy some pow with us! We have many beginners that join us every year, & we love to help connect you together! We also offer 1-2 "Buddy days" a season, where the executives & certified members of the club offer to give free lessons!
Do I have to be a McGill student to join?
No- we welcome all shredders in the Montreal community
When do trips start?
If conditions allow us, we try and do a trip or two before fall semester exams. Otherwise, we start the weekend after Christmas break. We are now hosting trips both Saturday and sometimes Sunday for more downhill fun and convenience!
WHAT IS THE TYPICAL SCHEDULE FOR A WEEKEND DAY TRIP?
BUSES LINE UP ALONG 555 SHERBROOKE [IN FRONT OF THE MUSIC LIBRARY] AND TYPICALLY DEPART BETWEEN 6:30-7:30AM. THE EXACT TIME IS SPECIFIED WHEN THE TRIP IS POSTED. IF YOU ARE LATE IN THE MORNING WE WILL NOT WAIT FOR YOU SO BE SURE TO BE THERE ON TIME!
WE TRY TO SCHEDULE TO ARRIVE AT THE HILL BETWEEN 8:30-9:30AM. TYPICAL DEPARTURE TIME FROM THE HILL IS BETWEEN 3:30-5:00PM IN ORDER TO ARRIVE BACK AT THE CITY BETWEEN 6:00-8:00PM.
I want a refund for my transportation fee:

I want to CANCEL A TRIP REGISTRATION/ REFUND MY TRIP TICKET:
UNFORTUNATELY, WE DO NOT ALLOW FOR TRIP CANCELLATIONs or refunds AS TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO GO ON A TRIP THAT YOU ARE REGISTERED FOR, YOU CAN TRANSFER THE TRIP TO SOMEONE ELSE THAT IS A MEMBER. OUR GOAL AS A CLUB IS TO PROVIDE AS MUCH SKIING AS POSSIBLE TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE. MISSING A TRIP MEANS THAT THERE IS ONE LESS MEMBER WHO COULD HAVE SKIED THAT WEEKEND. Can I attend a trip if I have not paid the transportation fee?
Yes! We now offer non-member trips for those in the Montreal community that wish to participate in our trips but cannot make the commitment of paying the transportation fee. Non-member tickets are an additional $30 in order to compensate for transportation. (please note that only mcgill students may attend trips for the 2021-2022 season)
"I didn't receive a confirmation email after i bought my ticket/signed the waiver."
Confirmation emails are not sent out to the buyer/signatory but to us so that we can track and confirm who will be on our trips each weekend. Once you are redirected from the payment/waiver page (barring notification of failed payment on the page itself) you are good to go!
When do trips usually sell out for the week?
try to buy a ticket for a ski trip Friday afternoon the week before to secure your spot on ski trip for that upcoming weekend! the amount of tickets sold each trip depends on the popularity of the resort.
"I forgot to sign up in time before the trip sells out, is it still possible to come on that weekends trip?"
Possibly! It is possible that Another member who has purchased a ticket can no longer attend the trip and may be willing to transfer their ticket to you. by making a post in our Facebook group that you are in search of a ticket can make it easier to find such a person. However, in order to guarantee yourself a spot you must register AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Demand for the club has risen and there is a chance the trip sells out before our scheduled 11AM Wednesday deadline - we recommend buying tickets ASAP in order to ensure a spot for the weekend.
"I Sold my ticket to someone on Facebook, what do i have to do to make sure everything is good?"
We ask that if you sell your ticket to someone on Facebook that you send us an email with their name, email, and confirmation that they signed a waiver (before the Wednesday @11:30pm deadline. Please keep in mind that member tickets can only be sold to other members
Does the club provide rentals?
No the club does not provide or facilitate the rental process in any capacity, we suggest you check Poubelle du Ski, as they are the cheapest rental shop in Montréal. Check out the rental equipment page. Please note that we reserve the right to change trip location.

"Can I leave my stuff on the bus?"
Most of the time Yes, you can leave the stuff you do not need behind on bus but keep in mind that you will not be able to access it throughout the day. The buses leave after dropping us off and do not return until we reload for departure from the hill.
"I can't see the trips page and I couldn't buy a lift ticket in time."
Upon purchasing a transportation fee, the execs who run the club must manually approve each member, resulting in a small delay between when you buy your membership and when you are officially a club member. We ask for this reason if you plan to purchase a ticket for a trip that week and are just becoming a member, make sure you purchase your membership IN ADVANCE.
We try our best to approve members as quickly as possible but the club is not at fault if you are unable to purchase your ticket for that week's ski trip due to buying a membership right before the trip deadline. Remember, you must register an account before purchasing a transportation fee otherwise we may not be able to approve you. as always, please contact us if you are having issues.
